Our story

Phillip Zhao is the creator and designer of sēsaint and the name comes from the place where he spent majority of his childhood and adolescent years. Sē came from Praça da Sé, São Paulo, Brazil which is notoriously known by its violence and poor living conditions. Saint came from the church that sits in the area, and Phillip would go through the church after a long day hanging with friends to get home because it was the only safe haven he could find at late night. At a young age, he always liked to dress well but never could due to the financial conditions of the family at the time. He had a dream to one day design and produce clothing that made an impact and left an impression on people, so thats what he's doing right now. Chasing his dreams and making it happen in a different and yet very exciting country.

My story

I was born and raised in Brazil, São Paulo by immigrant parents from China. Growing up, I've always been passionate about art but never knew how to express it. At the age of 15, my parents and I were lucky enough to be able to afford a trip to the UK, where it opened my eyes to the amount of opportunities and better living conditions out there. At the age of 17, I graduated high school, and my parents offered me the opportunity to move to Canada. Without hesitation, I took the opportunity and moved right away, mainly because of the growing violence in Brazil and better living conditions in Canada. Since then, I've been working hard and finding new ways to express my art. This brand is the culmination of years of planning and learning the right way to do it. I really hope you enjoy it. Cheers!
